1) The Mall of misery - A ghostly haunted stretch of cbd land that is a grave yard to retail businesses that gave it thier all in a fight for survival in on...e of... the most less resourced place in Australia. This is the only place in Townsville & NQ where zombies & warlocks roam in search of some kind of purpose in a not-so-purposeful environment (a dead and lifeless cbd)
2) The Hill that isnt alive with the sound of music - This hill was not in the Julie Andrews classic so please dont be fooled.... This hill - known as Castl...e Hill, does not have a castle on it nor is there a royal family... Unbeknownst to the people of Townsville...This hill has its own horror secret, there is a mansion on this hill thats haunted..This house on the haunted hill will definitely be a scare so stay away!

A very large mass concentration of in-bred no-hopers that are on the verge of cannibalism. The City was once a nuclear testing site which saw a hiroshima style bomb being dropped back in the 1900's. Since that very life changing day, The after effects of that can still be felt with 99....9% of the population having reported to have reproduced off-springs with an immediate family member.

Breaking News: Townsville Fury has been axed from the A-league. The self centred Townsville team whom had no connections with Cairns (nor had they tried)have been axed due to not enough money.
The City of Brownsville had so much pride that they thought they could keep afloat 4 national teams plus still have money to throw around for the V8's.
The City would gloat to Cairns about its newly accomplished feat. But alas this was not so! The people of Brownsville (ungreatful as they are) just couldnt be bothered attending the soccer games. This resulted in the Fury losing alot of money and being pushed further into debt.
The Fury tried in vain to save themselves but realised Brownsville couldn't do it on their own.
The Fury tried to make an 11th hour death bed plea to the people of Cairns and FNQ however it fell on deaf ears. The damage had already been done!
**BYE BYE FURY AND THANKS FOR THE DISTANT MEMORIES**
and to Brownsville: You suck! You dont deserve any more national teams because you cant support them all!

Woo hoo isnt it just amazing when your city is selected by a world famous celebrity to visit? Yep thats right im talking about beautiful Cairns, a city that is already world renowned and unlike that boring brown dust-bowl down the road; we know how to have fun and show tourists a good time.
Townsville was very jealous when it was announced that the Queen of talk shows - Oprah Winfrey was going to visit lovely green Cairns City.
Question to Townsville: Why would she want to visit a brown dry desolate wasteland that owes its life to industrial & mining activities? Boring! Unlike Townsville, Cairns doesnt need to be popular by building man mad things or wasting money by putting on big events. Everyone across the globe will always think of Cairns & the Great Barrier Reef when they mention North Queensland! Get over it Townsville you suck!
What did Oprah do when she came to Cairns Adam? Oh, that's right: she sat in her plane for 40 minutes and flew away! Hahahahhahahahha.
Fix up your crappy CBD, poor quality resturants and bad service before you start gloating about another non-event again.

hello i just want to leave a comment here for my custom essay
when your travelling on the other side of the world and go into a travel agent to arrange where your going next you see 5 cities in the Australia section: Melbourne,Sydney,Alice springs,Brisbane and Cairns NOT! brownsville
Well 'D', obviously. Cairns is a holiday destination and deservedly so, but why take a jibe at Townsville? What have they done to you? Is it because a)their economy is not struggling, b)they have 4 national sporting teams, c) the V8s, d) a better university or e)the largest military ba<x>se in the southern hemisphere? Again, this stupid rivallry is ridiculous but these are the facts. Get over it already.

To mick: Its probably because Cairns doesnt go crying to the gvt for money and then throw a b**** fit when it doesnt get it...unlike Townsville whom think they have to have everything..buncha sooks

WEll well well looks like our "southern sister" is at it again... gloating over the fact that they got the V8's...Its a pity that the audience watching the race on tv only got to see a brown hill and the sea....what a waste!!
Yeah, but you've missed the point. Townsvile got the V8s and Cairns didn't. Someone's jealous. Even the Cairns Post heaped praise on Townsville and how they ran the event. Only wish they would get behind the Cowboys and Fury more. They still can't seem to hack that those teams are ba<x>sed in Townsville, yet they represent the whole of NQ (yes, that includes FNQ). Not trying to take sides here, just giving the facts.

Interesting comments...but seriously lets consider the facts...
1) Townsville only got the v8's due to constant whinging and crying to the gvt of the day and crying foul play (a known habit of Townsville)
2) The Cowboys & Fury are Townsville teams yes, however they have no immediate plans of ever playing in Cairns! The Cowboys tried it a few years ago (but that didnt work) and i dont think the Fury are that keen really.... Further more IF and when Cairns ever decides to get a team... You can guarantee that the FURY & COWBOYS will do all they can to try and stop Cairns, By either enticing Cairns with more home games. When they should've thought of the concept long before!

Well Adam, let's conisder the following:
1) all that "constant whinging and crying" for V8s ended up injecting about $20 million into Townsville's economy-http://www.townsvillebulletin.com.au/article/2009/09/03/76591_v8.html.
I think that's a pretty good return on an investment like that, don't you?
Cairns needs the same iniative, and if whinging and crying is how you get it, then so be it. Your argument here is really pointless.
2) If Cairns had a decent stadium and more seating capacity for Cowboys and Fury home games then maybe they would play up there more often. I mean, Barlow Park won't exactly cut it for national sporting teams. However, in fairness Cazalys is pretty good for NAB cup AFL games. If and when Cairns gets a team? hmmm, Cronulla Sharks wanted to move up to Cairns from mememory, but that was mothballed very early on-due to LACK of support, infrastructure and facilities. It's only the local rag that doesn't support Cowboys and Fury, I'd say most people in Cairns do.
So there are my facts (with actual references-surprise).
Looking foward to your reply.

In relation to your reply Mick....
1) The "$20million" that Townsville reaped from the V8's is questionable considering the local businesses and other community members are disputing that...I remember reading the Townsville bully on that and to me it looked like figures plucked from the air...
2) IF Cairns had a decent stadium then everything would change right?? I seriously seriously doubt that considering The Cowboys & Fury are very reluctant to give up thier position in Townsville just for the sake of "Cairns people". Everyone in Cairns & the Far North know they are Townsville teams.. In all honesty i wished the Cowboys & Fury would just change thier name to the Townsville Cowboys & Fury. This would save them the headache of trying to represent everyone but themselves.
